Dealership App Revamp
CarDekho's Dealership App is a B2B car auction platform that enables dealers to sell their used cars via auctions, where other dealers can place bids to win the vehicle. However, the app was facing critical UX and UI issues that affected user engagement, trust, and participation in auctions. The primary goal was to revamp the app's UX and UI to drive more participation in auctions, improve the dealer experience, and enhance business performance.
Objective
Core Challanges
Key challenges included:
Broken search experience: The search bar was hidden, making car discovery difficult.
Poor bid tracking: The 'Live Bids' tab remained empty if no bids were placed, leaving users with an incomplete experience.
Lack of hierarchy in car listings: Important details were scattered, making it hard for users to compare listings.
Sticky filter issues: Previously applied filters remained active across sessions, causing confusion.
Unintuitive UI: Dealers were not engaging, and new users were dropping out, impacting the overall auction process.
User Research & Problem Identification
After conducting user research, we identified three primary user types and their pain points:
The Searcher - Users who come with a specific car in mind.
Needs: Advanced search filters like Make, Model, Year, City, Registration Number.
Solution: Added search tags, saved searches, and email notifications for unavailable cars.
The Participant - Users actively bidding on cars.
Needs: Quick car comparisons, clear bid tracking, and bid history.
Solution: Introduced bidding history, real-time notifications, and a "Cars You Might Be Interested In" section.
The Explorer - Users casually browsing.
Needs: Featured deals, referral programs, and exclusive offers.
Solution: Implemented banners, featured cars section, and “Refer & Earn” program.
